Project Aperture Studio (“Aperture Studio”) is a personal desktop video tool operated by Phil Achleman of Gathering Moss. It is used by its owner to make short videos from his own podcast and to publish them to his own YouTube, Instagram and TikTok accounts. It is not offered to the public.
What the app handles
- Videos, captions and descriptions the owner creates.
- Basic account details returned when the owner connects an account (for example, the account name), and the permission tokens the platforms issue so the app can post on the owner’s behalf.
Where it is kept
Tokens, settings and projects are stored only on the owner’s own computer. Aperture Studio has no server of its own and does not collect, sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.
Who receives data
Only the services the owner chooses to use: videos and captions are sent to YouTube, Instagram or TikTok to be posted to the owner’s own account, and text may be sent to an AI service the owner has set up to help write posts. Each service handles that data under its own privacy policy.
Removing access
The owner can disconnect Aperture Studio at any time from the connected-apps settings of each platform, or by deleting the app’s settings folder on the computer. Disconnecting stops all posting.
